Alvin “Curly” Wayne Chamberlin passed away June 17, 2004 after four courageous years of cancer at age 70. Curly was born in Lester, Washington, May 8, 1934. His parents, Paul and Mabel Chamberlin, precede him in death. He was raised in Renton, Washington. Curly graduated from Renton Junior/Senior High School in 1952. He then served in the U.S. Army in Anchorage, Alaska until 1957. After his military service he attended the University of Washington. He then began a career in aviation as a pilot for Western Airlines in 1962 and retired as a Captain in 1994 from Delta Airlines after 32 years of flying. Curly was an avid golfer and enjoyed his retirement years as a member of Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is survived by his loving family: wife of 30 years, Joan, Sons Brian (Randyn) of Phoenix, AZ, Barry, Jason and Sean of Bellevue, Washington. His eight brothers and sisters, Paula Maas, Robert Chamberlin, Donna Crueger, Maybelle Brickley, Ernest Chamberlin, Clarice Christofferson, Carol Stimmel, and Patricia Shewbert. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
